Department Achievements

The department along with its faculty, students have many achievements, including research grants, awards, and recognition.

  • WCE has secured ₹1.10 CR funding for the AICTE Idea Lab—₹55L from AICTE and ₹55L from industry and the institute. The lab will promote hands-on learning, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Led by Prof. P.A. Mane and Dr. Vijay Mohale, and supported by WCE management, the lab aims to bridge academic theory with real-world applications.
  • One Week Faculty Development Program As per DTE-IITB MOU Organized by Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay & Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State “Electromagnetics: Principles and Applications” (09th – 13th October 2023).
  • A National Level Conference on Recent Trends in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (NCRTMEE-23) is jointly organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering & Department of Electrical Engineering on 21st Dec 2023.
  • Research Project Sanctioned:
    1. RGSTC-MSME Internship Programme at Walchand College of Engineering Sangli (Cycle 7 Phase II), An amount of 2,95,000/- is sanctioned on October,2024 for the project “Harmonic Mitigation by using SVC” .
    2. PRATIK SONI Second year M. Tech. Power System Engineering student under the guidance of Dr. Vijay Mohale (WCE) & Dr. R. K Sharma (BARC Mumbai) received a Student Travel Grant from IEEE to Attained Pulse Power and Plasma Science 2025 (PPPS 2025), IEEE Conference at Berlin.

Faculty Achievements

  • V. P. Mohale secured Best Paper Award at IEEE IAS Annual Meeting Incorporating the Industrial & commercial Power Systems Asia conference New Taipei city, Taiwan.
  • V. P. Mohale reviewed the journal papers from IEEE transactions & MDPI Energies.
  • V. P. Mohale appointed as an Advisory Chair Member for the “International Conference on Recent Advances in Technology & Management (ICRATM-2025)” at PVG’s Nashik Campus, Nashik.
  • S. S. Karvekar has completed PhD degree on 5th February 2024
  • Mrs. A. S. Karvekar completed PhD degree on on 25th April 2024.
  • N.B. Jagtap has cleared NPTEL online exam on “Digital Circuits” with elite in Oct 2024.

  • The Electrical Engineering Students’ Association (EESA) of Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli, successfully organized its annual national-level technical symposium, TECHNOCRAT 2024, on the 28th and 29th of September.
  • The Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department of Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli, organized a three-day technical workshop on “Modelling and Simulation of Electric Vehicle Using MATLAB/Simulink” from 16th to 18th December 2024. Held at the department’s seminar hall, the workshop aimed to provide participants with practical knowledge on electric and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) system modeling using MATLAB and Simulink.
  • On the occasion of the 20th Foundation Day of MSEDCL, a Safety Awareness Rally has been organized.  This event will be coordinated by Dr. R. P. Hasabe Sir (Staff Advisor, EESA) and Mr. V. S. Sathe. SY & T.Y. B. Tech Electrical Engineering students have participated in the event.
