M Tech Specialisations and Curriculum

M. Tech. Specialisations and Curriculum

Specialisations: Two M. Tech. Courses are offered in the Civil Engineering Department at Walchand College of Engineering (WCE), which include M. Tech. in Civil-Environmental Engineering and M. Tech. in Construction Management.

  1. Tech. in Civil-Environmental Engineering course focuses on advanced environmental engineering studies, its applications in the real world, solutions to real problems related to civil and environmental engineering, advanced techniques used in environmental engineering, etc.
  2. Tech. in Construction Management course focuses on the application of project management principles on actual construction sites, resource management in large-scale construction industries, correlation between the book and actual on-field construction management, real-world applications of construction management, etc.

Curriculum – The M. Tech. curriculum is designed to provide students with advanced knowledge and skills in their chosen specialisation. The curriculum is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in civil engineering. Since the batch 2023-2024, the M. Tech. Curricula are also aligned with the NEP 2020 policy.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOS)

Postgraduates of the Civil-Environmental Engineering and Construction Management programme, after a span of three to four years of their post-graduation, will be able to:

  • PE01: Demonstrate technical Competency, Leadership quality and life-long learning, satisfying requirements of industry/research and development organisations/consultancy firms/academic institutions
  • PEO2: Contribute, individually or in teams, to the development of infrastructure exhibiting ethical attitude and social responsibilities

Programme Outcomes (POS)

Postgraduates of the Civil-Environmental Engineering programme, on successful completion of the programme will be able to:

  • PO1: Apply appropriate research methodologies and demonstrate higher order skill individually, in groups to the development works in the domain of environmental engineering to solve practical problems. (Research Skill)
