Dr. Surendra Singh Rathod currently serves as the Director of Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli. Prior to this, he held the position of Principal at Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering, Bandra, Mumbai, for three years. His distinguished career also includes 24 years of service at Sardar Patel Institute of Technology (S.P.I.T.), Mumbai, where he contributed in multiple leadership roles such as Professor, Head of the Department (Electronics Engineering), and Dean
(Academics).
A seasoned academician, researcher, and visionary leader in technical education, Dr. Rathod brings over two decades of rich experience in teaching, research, and academic administration. He has played a pivotal role in enhancing engineering education and institutional growth.
Dr. Rathod earned his Ph.D. in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, maintaining an exceptional academic track record. His research expertise encompasses cutting-edge
domains like VLSI Design, ASIC Verification, Artificial Intelligence, and Engineering Education. Under his supervision, seven scholars have successfully completed their Ph.D., and his extensive
publications in reputed national and international journals reflect his scholarly depth. He is also actively involved with various professional bodies, Academic Councils, Boards of Studies, and Governing Councils across institutions.
He has been always at the forefront of shaping a student-centric learning ecosystem. A strong proponent of student-centered education, Dr. Rathod envisions developing young engineers as both competent technocrats and socially responsible citizens.
