Students Activities: The department has a range of student activities, including Electrovert, Roboholic, Excellence, General Interest Meet etc. under ELESA Club.  The department provides additional training to students, including certification programs, workshops, and seminars. The department engage students through various student development programs, including mentorship programs, internship programs, and startup incubation programs.

This compilation highlights the diverse accomplishments of Electronics Engineering students across academic, technical, cultural, and sports arenas during the academic year. From prestigious internships, national-level hackathons, robotics championships, and innovation contests to artistic accolades and university representations — our students have demonstrated excellence, creativity, and leadership at every step. Their participation and victories in competitions, courses, and professional programs reflect the department’s commitment to holistic development and technical prowess.

National-level Recognitions:

  • Ninad Narendra Kulkarni (Final Year) secured a position among the top 20 nationwide in the Aryabhatta National Maths Competition and received multiple accolades including 1st Prize in Western Instrumental Solo at the Shivaji University Youth Festival and a 2nd prize for IoT-based Weather Station in the District Youth Festival.
  • Ritesh Sunil Jha (TY) advanced in national competitions like Adobe Gen Solve and Flipkart Grid 6.0, and was shortlisted for an internship interview at Google.
  • Yug Amrawat and team secured 2nd Runner-up at KIT Kolhapur’s national-level competition with an All-Terrain Service Bot project.

 

Technical Events and Hackathons:

  • Multiple students, including Swapna Samant, Samruddhi Salunkhe, Junaid Patil, Om Jathar, and Shreyas Shinde, received awards in project exhibitions, robotics championships, and hackathons like URC, NAVDHARA, and Circuit Safari, with cash prizes up to ₹15,000.
  • Anshul Geed secured 3rd Rank in CoDay Hackathon by NICE Systems.

Internships and Industrial Exposure:

  • Sanjana Gour received a PPO from Schneider Electric, and Amodinee Nagrale was a SDE intern at Siemens DISW.
  • Shreya Thorat (SY) was selected for both Summer and Winter internships at Siemens after a rigorous selection process.

Certifications and MOOCs:

  • Over 5 students completed NPTEL and Online Courses in domains like CMOS VLSI Design, IoT, and Robotics (e.g., Bhagyashri Chaugule, Yuvesh Menghare, Mrunmay Kurkute).

 

Collaborative Learning Activity:

Student experiences collaborative learning through department student’s association ELESA.

 

Seminars, Workshops, and Technical Events

  • Regular departmental seminars and guest lectures by industry professionals and academic experts on emerging trends in Electronics Engineering.
  • These events aim to develop technical, professional, and soft skills beyond the regular curriculum.
  • Provide opportunities for students and faculty to interact with industry professionals, academicians, and researchers.
  • Workshops offer practical training sessions on tools, software, and technologies to build technical competencies.

 

Skill Development Initiatives

Faculty and Students are encouraged to register for at least one online course from online learning portals such as NASSCOM, ICT academy courses, Udemy, Coursera, Edx and NPTEL. The participation of faculty members and students in NPTEL and other online courses is enhancing their self-learning capabilities. These enable them to enrich their subject knowledge with current trends, and also help in equipping themselves with inter-domain subjects. It is also considered as a key for lifelong learning.

  • Electronics Engineering Department, WCE, Sangli Successfully organized International Conference on “Communication Image Processing and Computing” (ICCIPC 2025) Faculty Coordinator: Dr. S. D. Ruikar, Date: 10th – 11th March 2025.
  • Electronics Engineering Department, WCE, Sangli Successfully organized National Conference on “Communication Image Processing and Computing” (NCCIPC 2023) Faculty Coordinator: Dr. S. D. Ruikar, Date: 15th – 16th Dec 2023.
  • Electronics Engineering Department, WCE, Sangli Successfully organized a One-week National Level Faculty Development Program on “Emerging Trends in Electric Vehicle” sponsored by AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy. Faculty Coordinator: Dr. S. D. Ruikar, Date: 8th Jan – 13th Jan 2024.
  • An Institute level SEED funding was received by Mr. S. D. Ruikar, Ms. S. U. Patil for Implementation of Autonomous Driving System Framework for safe driving.
  • An Institute level SEED funding was received by Dr. S. G. Tamhankar, Dr. R. S. Gaikwad for Kitchen Waste Based Biogas Plant in Hostel Mess.

 

Technical Clubs and Extracurricular Activities

  • Promote the overall growth of students by balancing academics with technical and non-technical pursuits..
  • Organizing intra- and inter-college competitions to encourage networking and knowledge sharing.
  • Help students develop technical, managerial, communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Include technical clubs related to specific domains like robotics, coding, IoT, electronics, AI/ML, and embedded systems.
  • Support career-building by hosting sessions on resume writing, mock interviews, group discussions, and personality development.
