Prof. Dr. Udaykumar Anna Dabade is a visionary leader and a distinguished academician who has been instrumental in shaping the destiny of Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli. As the Officiating I/C Director of the institution since March 2023, he has brought his wealth of experience and expertise to the table, providing strategic leadership and guidance to the college. With a strong academic background in Mechanical Engineering, having completed his B.E. from WCE in 1994 and M. Tech. and Ph.D. from IIT Bombay, Prof. Dabade has specialized in areas such as Manufacturing, Production, Micromachining, Precision Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Difficult to cut materials, Advanced Manufacturing Technology and Materials Science etc. His research interests have led to the publication of over 155 research papers, guiding 5 Ph.D. research scholars, 75+ M.E./ M.Tech dissertation and securing funding of ₹70+ lakhs from DST, AICTE, and UGC for research and travel grants. A recipient of the DST Young Scientist Award, Prof. Dabade has also demonstrated his leadership acumen by serving as State Project Administrator (SPA) for the TEQIP project in Rajasthan, appointed by the Ministry of Education (GoI). With a strong international exposure, having traveled to 11 countries for conferences and research paper publications, Prof. Dabade has also delivered expert lectures at various workshops and conferences. As a professional, he is a member of prestigious organizations such as ISTE, ITPE, IIIE, IACSIT, IET, and ASME. With his exceptional leadership qualities, academic excellence, and research expertise, Prof. Dr. Udaykumar Anna Dabade is poised to take Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli, to greater heights.
